World of Warcraft: Pre-Expansion Patch to Release - Tuesday
The latest update for World of Warcraft is set to release this Tuesday, October 14th. The Iron Tide is Patch. 6.0.2 and is bringing a ton of new content from The Iron Horde incursion, including gameplay adjustments and updates to abilities and skills for all classes, preparing for the launch of Warlords of Draenor next month. In Treacherous Developments, players go to the Blasted Lands to fight an infiltration following the death of Gar’mak Bladetwist, an Iron Horde general. A post on Battle.net tells of the premise:
“The Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands has turned blood red. Hundreds of strange-looking orcs are violently pouring into Azeroth, killing everything that stands in their path. Nethergarde and Okril’lon have already fallen, and while the Horde and the Alliance moved as quickly as they could to get reinforcements to their people, they are too late. The Iron Horde invasion has begun. In this desperate hour, King Wrynn and Warchief Vol’jin have called upon their greatest champions to join the front lines in the Blasted Lands and do whatever they can to stop the Iron Horde . . . before the rest of Azeroth falls before them.”
Another aspect of the update is The Infiltration of Blackrock Spire, which is a revamped, five-player version of Upper Blackrock Spire, has players doing what is needed to a party of Iron Horde members who have retreated to Blackrock Mountain, which has been revamped for the update. Only available to level-90 characters for a limited time, this sets the stage for the upcoming fight against the Iron Horde, as you will be fighting Kyrak, Commander Tharbek, and Orebender Gor’ashan.
Blizzard has also announced that you can undelete your characters, which is great news for those who haven’t decided what class to play. There are some stipulations however:
– You can only use the undelete option every thirty days
– Characters between level 10 and level 29 will no longer be recoverable after 90 days.
– Characters under level 10 and Death Knights at level 55 are not eligible to be undeleted.
– Characters between level 30 and 49 will no longer be recoverable after 120 days
All characters level 50 or higher can be undeleted at any time, with all of their gear intact. While Blizzard is currently saying that you won’t be able to undelete a character from years ago, they say it may be possible in the future depending on how high their level was at the time of deletion.
